Prior to establishing Kelley Therapy, we indentified that there was a major problem in the Miss-lou area.
Many of the surrounding rural cities, either did not have access to Therapy, or had to drive greater than 30 minutes to get to the nearest out-patient therapy clinic. Some areas had no option, except to drive a long distance. Some cities had only one option, such as the local hospital. Some cities had a couple clinics, but still the wait times and limited availability in scheduling interfered with care. Today, we are happy to fill this need and eliminate the shortage of therapy in the communities surrounding Natchez, MS and Vidalia, LA by offering outpatient therapy services in the Miss-Lou area.
Now that the hospital closed their out-patient clinic, there are no out-patient therapy clinics in the Jefferson County / Fayette area. Before our services were offered, the only option was to drive to Port Gibson or to drive to Natchez for out-patient care. Now, Kelley Therapy has local therapists, who are familiar with the area and serve in Jefferson County.
There is only one other out-patient clinic in the Franklin County area. The Franklin County Memorial Hospital (FCMH) was the only out-patient therapy clinic, and they are currently sourced by out-of town therapists and therapy assistants. Kelley Therapy now provides out-patient care in Franklin County, particularly to areas such as Roxie, where patients had to choose between driving to FCMH in Meadville or driving to Merit in Natchez.
For certain parts of Concordia Parish, long drives were the norm. Kelley Therapy solved this problem by coming to patients where they are, so they no longer have to drive to Vidalia or Natchez just to be put on a waiting lists. Patients in more rural areas have had to drive long distances to get the care they needed. Now, Kelley Therapy has direct access and can begin therapy care with a patient in this area, right away.
